Premium Service

The premium service is an efficient and stress free route to obtain a same-day decision. Descartes Solicitors is registered with the Home Office to provide same-day Premium or Super Premium services for a number of settlement (“indefinite leave to remain) or visa extension applications (“limited leave to remain”).

Premium Service

The premium service is an efficient and stress free route to obtain a same-day decision. Descartes Solicitors is registered with the Home Office to provide same-day Premium or Super Premium services for a number of settlement (“indefinite leave to remain) or visa extension applications (“limited leave to remain”).

If applying for settlement, a premium service appointment must be:

  • at least 48 hours after taking the Life in the UK test
  • within 28 days of you completing your qualifying period

Super Premium Service

The super premium service is a mobile service. It means that:

i)  a courier will collect your application forms and documents premium service staff will visit you to get your biometric information (fingerprints and photo) and your signature

ii)  You can choose the location and time of the visit (between midday and 3pm, Monday to Friday).

iii)  You can use this service for 4 main applicants and a maximum of 10 people per visit.

iv)  You will usually get a decision on your application within 24 hours.

The Home Office fee for this service is currently £10,500 per visit, plus the premium service fee per application type.

Which applications cannot be made on the Premium or Super Premium Service

The following types of applications CANNOT be dealt with on a Premium or Super Service basis:

  • waiting for a decision on a visa applied for
  • the family member (‘dependant’) of someone waiting for a decision on a visa applied for
  • a business person, innovator, sole representative or investor
  • a Turkish business person
  • a self-employed lawyer
  • Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur)
  • Tier 1 (Investor)
  • applying under Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)
  • applying for Stage 1 endorsement under Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent)
  • a seaman
  • a Gurkha
  • a retired person of independent means
  • an elderly dependant
  • still in the armed forces and exempt from immigration rules and requirements
  • a member of a diplomatic mission or one of their dependants
  • charged with a crime and waiting to go to court
  • someone whose case is complex because of personal circumstances
  • someone whose case is not covered by the Immigration Rules
  • sponsored by a member of staff at a premium service centre
  • applying for a Home Office travel document
  • applying for naturalisation or registration as a UK national
  • applying as a victim of domestic violence
  • applying for an European Economic Area (EEA)residence card or permanent residence card
  • applying for an EEA registration certificate as an unmarried partner
  • applying for an EEA registration certificate and you’re not a qualified person
  • applying for proof of a right of abode
  • applying for discretionary leave to remain
  • applying forsettlement as a refugee or humanitarian protection unless:
  • applying under the transitional arrangements to extend your discretionary leave after 3 years
  • applying to settle in the UK after 6 years discretionary leave
  • applying for registration certificates

 

What we can offer you

If instructed, our lawyers will also accompany you to your Premium Service appointment on the allocated day and advise you throughout the process.

It is important to note that the Home Office will only consider straight forward applications on the same day. Occasionally, there may be hidden defects with an application which will not be possible to identify from the information you provide. This may be identified by the Home Office immigration officer considering your application. They may ask for more information by way of a postal application.

If for any reason the Home Office refuse your application, they may choose not to refund your fees.

Approximately 95% of all applications submitted at the PEO are processed on the same day. We will advise you as to whether your application is straight forward at our initial consultation.
