Ilham Malik

Ilham joined Descartes Solicitors in 2014 as volunteer and progressed to a caseworker position.

Ilham read Law and Business Studies at the University of Warwick and graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours Degree. During her time at Warwick, she carried out legal research on Islamic Law for Femin-Ijtihad, a human rights organization focused on promoting gender equity in Islamic jurisprudence. Upon graduation, she went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at BPP in Holborn. Ilham further continued her legal education by completing an LLM in International Law at University College London.

Ilham has a keen interest in International Human Rights Law and Refugee Law in particular. Since joining the firm, Ilham has assisted in casework in many areas of Immigration including asylum claims, spousal visas, visit visas, settlement and naturalization applications, EEA applications and ECAA applications. In addition to Immigration casework, Ilham has assisted on cases in the areas of Family and Employment Law. Ilham is native speaker of Swahili
